CHANGE 7th General Meeting Held

On February 12, the 7th Project CHANGE Plenary Meeting was held in the main conference room of Shimadzu Corporation's Tokyo Innovation Plaza. In preparation for Phase 2, which will commence in April, the organization has been restructured. To achieve the goal of realizing a resilient, healthy, and long-lived society, the approach will expand with two wings: one from the perspective of “care providers” (Nursing Engineering) and the other from the perspective of “care recipients” (Longevity Technology). This will be supported by a research and development group that solidifies the foundation for these activities. Discussions were held on specific measures to effectively operate this new structure. Particularly, for the unique combination of nursing and engineering—the core of this hub—to blend effectively and create new value, more conscious interaction between the two fields is essential. Panel Discussion ① featured panelists from R&D Task 1 (Nursing Engineering) and R&D Task 3 (Formation of a Co-creation Platform) to advance this discussion. Panel Discussion 2 featured members from R&D Task 2 (Longevity Technology). They reaffirmed the current status of this relatively long-term initiative and discussed concrete actions for Phase 2. Comments from Advisors Mimura, Hanai, and Yamamoto provided valuable insights, making this a good opportunity to reflect on Phase 1 and boost enthusiasm for the upcoming Phase 2. During the poster session held over lunch, lively discussions unfolded from various perspectives in front of the densely packed posters. Researchers were delighted to find new insights scattered throughout the session.
