A paper by Prof. Ayumi Igarashi and her colleagues summarizing the effects of a dementia education program using VR has been published in Psychogeriatrics.

Providing effective and comprehensive support in dementia care requires multidisciplinary collaboration. However, in Japan, staff are too busy, and insufficient training remains a challenge. Professor Ayumi Igarashi of Chiba University and colleagues participating in CHANGE developed a virtual reality (VR)-based training program aimed at raising awareness about dementia and promoting multidisciplinary collaboration among WEDs staff. They evaluated its overall effectiveness. The results were published in Psychogeriatrics on September 22.
