The 26th Cross Cultural Event Held
On May 12, we held a Cross Cultural Event with iCONM staff, facility users, and representatives from Kawasaki City and the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion. This time, instead of a "country showcase" by foreign researchers, we focused on corporate culture and invited Dr. Eiji Watanabe, Manager, Frontier Technology Center of Mitsui Chemicals Inc. and the project leader of the MCI-iCONM Co-Creation Lab, to give a lecture.
With a history spanning 110 years, Mitsui Chemicals has undergone various changes, including organizational restructuring, to adapt to market trends and shifts in the business environment. Dr. Watanabe's insights made it clear how the company has navigated these changes. Additionally, with many overseas bases and his own experience as the General Director of the R&D center in Singapore for four years, he was able to quickly adapt to co-creation with the many foreign researchers at iCONM, thanks to his previous engagement in technology exchange with neighboring countries.
In the future, we would like to plan Cross Cultural Events not only focused on foreign cultures but also on other themes like this one.
