Second-Year Students from Hiroshima Municipal Motomachi Senior High School Visit iCONM
On October 1, 36 second-year students from Hiroshima Municipal Motomachi Senior High School visited iCONM. The school has a unique approach where students are grouped by their career aspirations, leading to different facilities being visited during their school trips. This time, the group visiting iCONM consisted of students aiming for careers in the medical field.
During their visit, they not only learned about iCONM and Project CHANGE but also heard from Ms. Michiko Yagi, the Executive Director of the Kawasaki Nursing Association. She discussed the current challenges faced by nurses and shared her expectations for how collaboration with CHANGE could transform care environments.
Following the tour of the research institute, the students participated in an engaging career consultation session. This featured Ms. Yagi, along with Dr. Makoto Shimazaki, the communications manager with a pharmacist license who has spent many years in communication jobs, and Dr. Yukihiro Kanda, an iCONM researcher studying nursing care after earning a Ph.D. in engineering.
