Second-Year Students from Shimane Prefectural MASUDA Senior High School Engage in Experiential Learning

On October 9, 18 second-year students from Shimane Prefectural MASUDA Senior High School (located in Masuda City, Shimane) visited iCONM. They were introduced to two ongoing research projects: the In-Body Hospital project and Project CHANGE, by Dr. Yukihiro Kanda, an iCONM researcher. He also discussed the theme of "Career Paths as a Researcher," highlighting the essential qualities for becoming a researcher and the journey involved. The students, who are considering careers in research, were highly engaged and attentive to Dr. Kanda’s insights.

Following the lecture, the students participated in three experiments alongside foreign researchers at iCONM, giving them a practical glimpse into working in a research environment. The visit concluded with a networking session, where they actively discussed their future career paths with a global perspective in mind, engaging in meaningful conversations with the international researchers.
