iCONM Held Workshop for High School Students to Foster Welfare Professionals
The joint workshop held on the afternoon of November 26th between third-year students from the Welfare Department of Kawasaki Municipal Kawasaki High School and second-year students from the Science Department of Kawasaki Municipal Kawasaki Comprehensive Science High School was featured on TV Kanagawa's news program. Both schools conducted outreach classes in September, preparing students for the workshop by studying issues such as the declining birthrate and aging population, the crisis in the healthcare system due to shortages of medical personnel, and challenges in nursing and caregiving settings. This was the first time two municipal high schools held such a full-scale workshop together, and while we were anxious about the students' reactions, everyone was so engrossed in the group discussions that they forgot about breaks.
