CHANGE 3rd Symposium to Tap into Medical and Nursing Issues from the Perspective of High School Students
Summary:
Project "CHANGE" was established to correct the imbalance between the increasing number of patients and the decreasing number of healthcare providers using the power of engineering. As research and development of innovative technologies progresses, ethical considerations will also be essential for social implementation, making it important to promote understanding not only among healthcare professionals but also among patients and the general public.
In the second part of the symposium, a talk session featuring high school students was held, focusing on the younger generation, who will be the future recipients of these changes. Four second-year students from Senzoku High School and Kawasaki High School for Science & Technology participated. The session was moderated by Kaoru Sakata, a caster for the science program on the web media "8bit news," and Makoto Shimazaki, the communication manager at iCÓNM. The participating high school students demonstrated a deep interest in medical issues, having researched the studies conducted under CHANGE in advance and posing insightful questions from their respective perspectives.
