JST's Program "Co-Creation Opportunity Formation Support Program (COI-NEXT)" adopted KIIP's “Ecosystem Leading to the Realization of Longevity and Health”.

On October 25, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) selected 21 new projects for its Co-Creation Opportunity Formation Support Program (COI-NEXT). The Nano-Medical Innovation Center (iCONM), operated by the Kawasaki Industrial Promotion Foundation, was selected as the “Global Ecosystem Formation Center Leading to the Realization of a Resilient, Healthy and Long-Lived Society,” which will conduct research and development of medical products to meet the needs of home healthcare. Specifically, the center will develop devices that monitor health conditions using sensors installed in homes and automatically administer drugs, as well as technologies to diagnose and control aging. In addition, learning tools will be developed to increase the care literacy of the general public, and institutional and ethical aspects will be developed for social implementation. Through these efforts, the goal is to make it possible to manage medical care at home, without relying on medical institutions.
